Project quality assurance:

CSL has an organisation-wide Quality Improvement System (QIS) applicable to all projects and services. Sub-contractors to CSL will achieve similar high standards. Under this system, the skills and experience of all staff are focused on ensuring customer requirements are met fully and that we continuously improve and streamline all processes and products. Key techniques are documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and managers are formally required to ensure that all staff are appropriately trained and equipped.

In order to benchmark our work and to ensure the drive for continuous improvement is maintained:

  • scientific work is reviewed by experienced and independent scientists;
  • we carry out an annual Customer Satisfaction Survey; and
  • we complete a thorough organizational self-assessment exercise on the EFQM model on a regular basis.

This general approach is underpinned where relevant with formal quality assurance schemes; specifically Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

CSL operates formal quality GLP-compliant assurance schemes where justified by the needs of customers.UKAS accredited organisations not only meet the requirements of EN 45001 and ISO / IEC Guide 25, but also the relevant sections of the BS EN ISO 9000 series of standards. UKAS is party to a multilateral agreement within Europe (EAL) and has mutual recognition agreements with countries that are not members of EAL, making UKAS accreditation a globally recognised standard.
